Fireweed honey earns its namesake from the first plant life to appear after a forest fire - the Fireweed. After the devastation of fire and a long cold winter, the spring brings light to the fireweed seeds on the ground. These seeds have been there for years waiting for the sun to finally shine on their time, offering them a chance to grow and thrive.
In fact, it was one of the first plants to appear after the eruption of Mt. St. Helens in 1980.
- Color: Pale yellow with sunny hues of butterscotch and sunflower.
- Aroma: Warm fragrance of brown sugar and dried fruit
- Flavor:It's flavors are richly layered and sweet. Like pure velvet on your tongue, you'll discover hints of pear or pineapple alongside slight caramel notes that melt quickly into the brown sugar aftertaste. There is an electric note in the fireweed honey, but it doesn't last long
